S. L. Alexander is an award-winning journalist who has worked in print, radio, and television, specializing in press coverage of courts. She is a popular speaker, workshop leader, and consultant on various journalism topics. She has frequently written and talked about the trials and tribulations of high-profile litigants.
Alexander is a faculty member of the School of Mass Communication at Loyola University in New Orleans. She earned a PhD in communication law at the University of Florida with a dissertation on the use of courtroom camera guidelines in criminal trials.
She has written extensively on free press/fair trial concerns and serves as cohost of Writers’ Forum, a weekly thirty-minute author interview program heard on WRBH-88.3FM/wrbh.org where she has interviewed more than one hundred writers including Wally Lamb, Kathryn Stockett, John Berendt, and just about every writer who lives or spends time in New Orleans.
