Etta Hulme, one of the best-known female editorial cartoonists in America today, has worked for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram since 1972. She earned a degree in fine arts from the University of Texas at Austin and worked in the animation department at Disney Studios for two years.
The National Cartoonists Society named her Best Editorial Cartoonist of 1982. In 1987, she served as president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists. Many of her cartoons have appeared in numerous editions of Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year, published by Pelican.
