Clovis Crawfish and his pals return in another adventure on the Louisiana bayou. In
Clovis Crawfish and the Spinning Spider, Simone Spider threatens the peaceful region by building her silver web right by Clovis’s mud house. The bayou friends watch helplessly as Simone puts the finishing touches on her sticky web.
Simone Spider is hungry. She’d like nothing more than to capture one of the bayou residents for lunch.
Some of the animals Fernand Frog and Gaston Grasshopper aren’t afraid of Simone; they’re too big and strong for her web. But little Josette June Bug isn’t so lucky. When a soft autumn breeze blows her down to the bayou, she gets tangled in Simone’s lair. Will she be able to fend off Simone until Clovis can rescue her?
The ninth is the Clovis Crawfish series, Clovis Crawfish and the Spinning Spider features simple French words and phrases throughout the story, with a phonetic pronunciation guide included. Full-color and black-and-white illustrations bring to life the friendly characters. Lyrics and music to a song about Simone are also included.
