Hodding Carter (1907-1972) was a renowned journalist and author. A native of Louisiana, Carter attended Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and founded the Hammond Daily Courier in Hammond, Louisiana, in 1932. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1946 for his editorials.
