Stacy Demoran Allbriton taught French and English at Salmen High School in Slidell, Louisiana. An advocate for French culture, she founded the school’s French club and expanded their French curriculum from a two year to a four year program. Committed to fostering her students’ interest in France, Allbritton led them on summer excursions to the country.
Allbritton is a contributor to Laureate literary magazine. Her awards include selection for “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” and the University of New Orleans’ James Whitlow Outstanding Achievement Award. She is a member of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs, the St. Tammany Federation of Teachers and School Employees, and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Allbritton has volunteered for the Red Cross, serving in capacities from translator to secretary.
Allbritton earned a bachelor’s degree in French and a master’s degree in romance languages, both from the University of New Orleans. Inspired by her heritage and French contributions to Louisiana’s language, culture, and cuisine, Allbritton wrote The Diary of Marie Landry, Acadian Exile. Her interests range from gardening and skiing to, of course, France. Allbritton divides her time between Jonesboro, Louisiana, and Paris, France. |
