Lois Sprague has illustrated numerous children’s books. In addition to participating in the Colorado Elk Tour by painting a life-size fiberglass elk, she has showcased her artwork in galleries throughout the country. Sprague also conducts live art on stage. During a thirty minute presentation, audience members watch as an image materializes right before their eyes.
She has worked with such clients as Christianity Today, Decision magazine, Kids Hope, and Colorado Festival of World Theatre. Sprague’s accolades include a Faculty Award of Superior Achievement, a Purchase Award from the Quincy Art Club, and first place in water media at the Visual Expressions Exhibition.
Sprague earned a degree in fine art and graphic art from American Academy of Art in Chicago. A member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, she lives in Woodpark, Colorado, with her husband and five children—and the occasional bear.
